I stumbled across this beautiful 'behind the scenes' video that Garance Doré & The Sartorialist (husband and wife!) put together for Tiffany's & Co. This is for Tiffany & Co.'s 'What Makes True Love' campaign! I am a huge fan of Garance's illustrations, so its lovely to see her directing style!

I love the scene of the two of them in bed with their Mac's!! The life of a blogger duo hey!

I love wedding video's. I actually turn into an emotional wreck, when I watch other peoples videos on wedding blog's! God know's how I will react at mine and Alex's wedding! As much as we love them, it is one thing that me and the boy can not stretch to in our budget!! Boo! I promise to show you my favourite videographers soon!

How is everyone's week going? I am in the midst of a big project, which is taking up a lot of my time, so the blog has been put on hold for a few days. I just seem to be working, eating, and sleeping! However part 2 of 3 on the project is complete, and it is just the technical packs to go now, once the client has signed off the designs! The nerve wracking bit! ha

Ok, I know!! It isn't Wednesday. Would you believe me if I said I was busy?? No thought not! However this will be worth the wait. I swear that this wedding is going to do the rounds in the blogosphere world due to its AMAZINGNESS!! This is the wedding of James & Aubrey! Aubrey is the owner of the Bleubird Vintage blog

This wedding is truly beautiful! The bride is stunning, the groom is handsome, and her bridesmaids are beautiful to! Look at their little pug to!! The decor is to just die for! And before you question yourself, are they feathers hanging from the ceiling in the barn?! YES! Sooo beautiful and unique! I think this might truly be the most beautiful and unique wedding I have seen in the past two years of being engaged and researching, which is a truly hard feat!! Even though I don't know this couple, you just know that this day reflects who they are as a couple and as a family!

No.5 Bridge Street, Winchester

Since I have been freelancing full time I have really struggled to learn how to balance my personal life with my work life.... It has been very work heavy! I feel what with my computer being a few steps away and that 'to-do' list getting longer! I find staying away from my computer VERY hard, and if I do get away I still then have my iPhone!! Eeek! I actually can't get away!! The fiance is constantly telling me off for 1. working late and 2. If not working late, for reaching for my phone after 7 in the evening if I hear the tone for a new email!

Although I am busy and I am getting the work in, I am struggling with the fact that I can't switch off! However..... last weekend I promised to the fiance I would not switch the computer on! I held my word, and spent a lovely weekend with the fiance (and yes I do admit that this working week has been much easier as I feel refreshed)

We went for lunch at a new restaurant in Winchester called 'No.5 Bridge Street' where we had the most amazing lunch with a hot pot of steaming tea (I am addicted to Tea!) It was the first time we went, and I am sure we will be returning very soon, as we both enjoyed our time there! The service was impeccable, and we had a lovely chat with the waitress as well, which doesn't happen very often.

They also supposedly have rooms that you can book to stay the night, and judging by the interior of the restaurant, I am sure the rooms would be lovely! Whilst having lunch, me and the fiance mentioned about doing a few 'staycations' over the year! What with me working from home, sometimes at the weekend the last place I want to be, is home, as the computer is to much of a temptation. I can go days without actually having the need to leave the flat, so after we have got married, we might start looking at spending a few weekends away here and there!

I can easily play this every day and not get bored of it. So when I heard she is releasing her new album very soon, I am very excited to say the least. This is her new single from her album, Black White & Blue!

Four Eyes

This week, has been full of lovely presents arriving through the door. First up was a lovely t-shirt from 'Hero and Cape' who's website I had been lusting over a few pieces! I love t-shirts, so when I came across this brand a while ago, I knew I had to own one (or two) of their pieces at some point! It was only a matter of time! However my amazing fiance, decided to buy me a surprise present!! Which I took as a sign of looking at their website way to much!! I am now lusting after the anchor t-shirt ! It arrived in super quick time, and was packaged all lovely.... I am a sucker for pretty packaging! The prices of the t-shirts are so reasonable, and the quality and service is awesome to. I suggest you go over and look now!

I also FINALLY ordered myself a pair of new glasses, after shamefully owning a pair that got me through a couple of years. Since working from home, and spending many hours in front of the computer, and starting to get headaches again, I knew it was time to buy a new pair!!

I searched high and low for months for 'the' pair, that would suit me! Not an easy task. I swear I spent way to many hours of my life in opticians, trying to find the pair. However when I did find the frames that suited my face, they were pretty expensive, so I had to save for a bit before I took the plunge. However after doing a bit of research online, I found it was much cheaper to order the glasses online as you could save yourself a good couple of £££'s! After searching high and low, and seeing websites that looked quite dodgy, I came across Pret A Voir. At the time, they didn't have the size I was after online, but thanks to their online chat feature. I was able to chat to someone from their office and they took my details and said they would email me as soon as they came in stock!

A few days later, an email popped up in my inbox, they were in!! I picked up the phone and ordered there and then!! They also matched a price I found on one of their competitors website. Due to them being prescription, they said they would take a week, however 4 days later they arrived via special delivery!! I was amazed by the speedy-ness of the service. The customer service on the phone was truly amazing, which doesn't happen very often these days. I actually don't know why I didn't order sooner, as it's amazing how much clearer I can see!!

Seeing as it is a Sunday, and I am desperate for Spring to come around. I thought I would gather a few images via pinterest to show one of the up and coming trends! From bubblegum pink to spearmint green, sherbet tones are going to be huge this summer! Although I feel that this could be quite a hard trend for me as it might bring out my paleness! (I am in desperate need of a holiday as I have severe lack of sun! )However, this will be such a pretty trend for the summer, with round neck lines jackets, and peter pan collar blouses! I found the above images, summed up the feel of the trend! Just think, pretty, feminine and candy cane!!

P.S I am desperate for a bike with a basket at the moment!! If anyone would like to donate a Pashley, it would be greatly appreciated :)

Ok, ok, ok!! I know this isn't wedding attire! However....there is quite a big trend of coloured wedding dresses that seems to be filtering through!! Even though I personally would not wear a coloured wedding dress, if I HAD to! I would make sure it would be one of the dresses from Elie Saab's Spring 2012 Couture collection. It was Couture fashion week last week, and I daily looked at the new shows on my lunch break. Don't you just love the internet!?

My favourite shows were Chanel, Dior, Givenchy and Elie Saab. I am a HUGE fan of Elie Saab, and will always dream to wear one of his dresses one day...A girl can dream!

Pastel colours are going to be a huge trend this Spring/Summer season. Elie Saab has completely embraced this trend and ohhh my isn't it beautiful! Ice-y blues, minty greens, pale pinks, sorbet lemon, peach, and nudes! He never fails to disappoint me. I would love to read his mind for one day, it would be a mind full of prettyness!

I instantly fell in love with her laid back style, which isn't surprising as her collection oozes her californian lifestyle. Her father is the famous surfboard shaper, Al Merrick, so the beach life runs through her veins! I have just fallen in love, and she might be my new designer crush!

One thing I love about my etsy store, is that I get to speak to lovely people all over the world who either want to buy my prints, or send me little messages about their love for them. From this I also stumble across their blogs that I soon become a follower of!

One of my favourite customer's has to be Danielle from 'Breakfast at Toast'. If you are after a new lifestyle/design blog to read, I suggest looking at her blog! Wedding Wednesday: Our Wedding Invitations

Seeing as it is 'Wedding Wednesday', I thought I would share mine and Alex's wedding invitations that I designed from scratch. It can be very handy being a designer sometimes! I absolutely love stationery, so I enjoyed every stage of designing our wedding invitations. As you can see our wedding colours are yellow & grey.

What you see above is the English day invitation.... yes you heard right! We had FOUR different versions of these invitations. A day and evening for our English guests, and a day and evening for our French guests. Nothing like extra work for yourself! Luckily we are having quite a small wedding.... if we were having around 100 guests, I might of locked myself away for a few days afterwards! However to keep things slightly less confusing, the evening invitations were the opposite colour ways, so when we packaged them all up, we knew we were sending the right invitations out to the right people!

Seeing as grey can be quite a 'flat' colour, I made sure each slip had a different pattern on them, so that when they sat next to each other in the envelope, it wasn't a swarm of grey! We wanted something that was unique and individual to portray 'us' and the feel of our wedding. Me and Alex loved the way our invitations turned out.

Ariana's Baby Shower

I have just got back from a lovely weekend spent with good friends back home in Devon. The girls in the photo above, are some of my closest friends, we all met at University when we were studying our fashion design degree. We have all gone our separate ways, but we have the type of friendship that we can go for months without actually seeing each other, and still have no awkwardness between us. These girls TRULY make me laugh out loud!

Believe it or not, one of us is pregnant in the photo above.... Ariana (in the black and stripy top)! She is due in a few weeks!! She has such a neat little bump, that looking at her from straight on, you would never know she was pregnant!

The three of us, me, Alice & Kelly decided to throw Ariana a surprise baby shower!! Ariana is the first in our group of friends to have a baby, so we are all super excited that there will be a little one in the group! We were planning it for months, to try and arrange a date when we would all be back in Devon, we even had to involve her husband Nick, to make sure she was in the County! I came down from Hampshire, Kelly came down from London, and Alice the host, provided her living room!! It is not very often now, that we are able to all get together, but we all decided that a baby shower had to be organised, so we could spoil Ariana for the afternoon!!

We drank tea, ate jelly babies & biscuits, and chatted away for the afternoon, catching up on each others lives. As you can tell by the pink's & lilac's, that she is having a baby girl! We all can't wait to meet the little one, and it is so strange to think that the next time we all see Ariana, will be when she has a little baby in her arms! Exciting!

TalentHouse: Secret 7" Ben Howard Entry

I thought I would show you my entry for the 'Ben Howard -Secret 7" project in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Talent House invited creatives to design artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by one of the artists song. These artists include Florence & The Machine, The Cure, DJ Shadow, Noah and The Whale and Bombay Bicycle club.

I decided to choose Ben Howard, as not only am I huge fan, but the song they selected from his album 'Black Flies' is one of my favourites. They will choose 45 designs for each artist, which will then be displayed in a gallery in London, which will then be available to purchase with all the profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust.

The only rule as such, was not to include any text relating to the song, or the artist. As none of the buyers at the gallery will know who created the sleeve, or even which song it's for, until they are holding it in their hands!! Sounds pretty exciting to me!!

I had a few ideas, but I settled on this one, due to the way I translated the song (with the help of Alex giving his translations). I wanted to give across quite a natural organic feel, as that's what comes naturally to me, so kept it simple with keeping it just to a pencil sketch. I included a small black fly tattoo on the wrists... I enjoyed creating this piece, as I normally create 'fashion' illustrations, so this was a nice change, to interpret a song that I love. I would love the opportunity to see this on a vinyl, as it would be a huge achievement for me. I can only cross my fingers that who ever chooses like's and understands what I was trying to get across.

Voting starts at 6pm tonight, and even though votes don't automatically make you into the 45, it does supposedly help, and would love to know what you think of it! I have included the video of Ben Howard singing the song acoustically below, and if you have not heard of him before, you should check him out!

7 Year Anniversary

Last weekend was mine and Alex's seven year anniversary of being together, which also meant two years of being engaged (he proposed on our anniversary of our fifth year together) It seems like only yesterday that we first got together, and I can't wait to see what the next 60+ years holds for us!

To celebrate the big day, we decided to go on a road trip to get away from the flat. Since working from home, I am always desperate to get out of the flat! We decided to head towards 'Lulworth Cove' on the Dorset coast and grab a bite to eat. We have been saving like crazy for the wedding, with every spare penny going into the piggy bank, so this really was a treat for us!

It was so soooo cold and sooooo windy... as you can tell from my hair in the above photograph, however it was super sunny so it was a beautiful winters day! We both fell in love with the beautiful Lulworth Cove, and we made a pact to return this summer, as it is such a gorgeous spot!!

Alex is the most amazing person I have ever met, even after 7 years of knowing him, I still learn something new about him. He has been my rock these past few months, supporting me whilst I made the transition to go from full time employment, into the scary world of self employment! He is the king of all kings at 'Pep talks' and giving me the motivation to keep going when I have had a rough day, and he is also the king of all kings of 'I told you so!' when it all works out fine in the end ;) I can not put into words how much I love this man!!

Today, also marks 4 months till we both get married! Where has the past 2 years and 1 month gone?! I'm sure Alex only proposed yesterday! I guess we best start cracking on with our huge wedding 'to-do' list!

I am still on the hunt to find the hair style I want to have for mine and Alex's wedding. I do feel like I am narrowing down the styles I like though so that's a start. I naturally have wavy hair, so I feel one of the above styles would suit my hair type the most!

The countdown is really on now, it is 4 months and 1 day until the big day! It feels like me and Alex have been waiting forever for this day, that all of a sudden it is creeping up on us! It has now been over two years since we got engaged, which means two years of planning this day! Its crazy to think of the effort and time that goes into planning a wedding! I would never of thought it before!

I am back home in Devon this weekend to pick up my bridesmaids to see if they fit. I can't wait to see them all together! It will make everything start to come together!

Taylor Swift for Vogue

Here goes folks, I am going to make a confession! I am a self confessed fan of Taylor Swift! I would give my left arm to go and see her live.

When I heard she made the front cover of American Vogue, I couldn't wait to see photo's. Even if I wasn't a huge fan of hers, I would still admit that this editorial is just beautiful. I had to double take, as I didn't recognise her at first. She looks absolutely stunning, however I am not surprised though, what with Mario Testino being behind the lens.

Miu Miu Pre Spring 12 Shoes

To say I am in love with the latest Miu Miu shoes is a slight understatement! I am a huge magpie when it comes to glittery objects, especially when they come in shoe form! I love the gold shoes, but my favourites are the silver glitter pairs. I find myself looking at these pairs of shoes on a daily basis!

I can not believe it is Friday already! I have got a really interesting project in at the moment, so it is very true when they say time flies when you are having fun. I am really enjoying freelancing, even if it isn't the easiest fields of work to go into, as you are relying on yourself to pay those dreaded things called bills. However, I really do enjoy the challenge and the variety of work I am getting in..

I think I might start this as a new weekly feature on my blog, seeing as its less than 5 months till mine and Alex's wedding! Eek! One of the sides of the wedding I have not really thought about is me! Crazy I know? However seeing as the wedding is going to be here in a flash and I have got my first dress fitting at the end of the month, I need to start researching.

I am still unsure on how to have my hair, so the next few weeks I am going to looking at wedding hair so I can decide the 'look' of the day!

Mulberry S/S 2012 Look Book

Ohhhh my!!! How beautiful are the new look book shots for Mulberry's S/S 2012! I absolutely love the fact it was shot in Brighton, with giant sticks of rock and ice creams!! The campaign is inspired by creative directors Emma Hill's childhood memories of English seasides, and styled by Edward Enninful.

I think I just fell in love with Mulberry a little bit more!

Look Now, See Forever by Yayoi Kusama

I just stumbled across photographs of this silly yet amazing exhibition for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art created by Yayoi Kusama. The exhibition titled 'Look Now, See Forever' see's Yayoi create a large room where everything was white, to create a large giant white canvas. She then handed thousands of stickers to visiting children, to go and stick these multicoloured stickers where ever they fancied. As you can see from the above photos, that after the course of two weeks, the children didn't let her down, it was pretty much covered! Making the canvas burst full of colour, so much so you it hurts your eyes to look at it for so long!

The exhibition is on to the 11th March, so if you are in the Queensland area, I would definitely pay a visit with your children, just make sure they understand that they can't go sticking stickers everywhere in your home!!

New Illustration: Christian Louboutin Pigalle

First of all, here is a new illustration of mine. The iconic 'Pigalle' shoe by 'Christian Louboutin'. I personally feel this is the most iconic shoe that Christian Louboutin has ever created so far, especially in black patent. I shall be adding this to my etsy store in a few days.

Next up, which I am super excited about is that the Design Museum in London is holding the first UK's retrospective of Christian Louboutin. It will be held between the 28th March to the 1st July. I know for a fact I will be going. I love the exhibitions that the Design Museum puts on!! This exhibition will be celebrating Louboutin's career to date. There will also be an exploration of his design process, and how the shoes are constructed, from initial drawing and first prototype. Excited much?

I am a huge fan of Louboutin's, so much so I was given his book for christmas from my mum & dad. As you can imagine this topped my christmas present list. This book is absolutely amazing, not only is it rammed with shoes, it also includes stories about them which are so interesting to read.

Earlier this week I entered the 'Company Magazine - Are you the next big thing in fashion illustration'. One of the illustrations we needed to enter, had to be the one of the key accessories off of the S/S 12 runways. I automatically thought of these beauties by Burberry Prosum. My only problem was, I only found out about the competition 2 days before the deadline. I wasn't entirely happy with the way they came out, but for the amount of time it took me I can not complain! You got to be in it, to win it. Right?!

Jewellery By Jaymie

One thing you learn to rely on when you turn freelance and work from home, is your support network. Of course mine is family and friends. However I didn't expect twitter to add to that. I have networked with a few lovely ladies on Twitter, who have helped along the way whether its motivation for those 'off' days or to help with more tedious tasks such as advice on the dreaded tax man!

One of these talented ladies is Jaymie, who not only creates beautiful illustrationsbut she also creates beautiful jewellery (I told you she was a talented lady!). I was super shocked for her to send me one as a lovely christmas gift to thank you for helping her out with a few things :) I instantly fell in love with her red ruby slippers necklace, not just because I am a magpie and love sparkles, but I love the Wizard of Oz! As soon as I received it in the post, which was wrapped beautifully, I put it straight on and I got so many comments about this necklace! I also painted my nails glittery red to match ;)

Recap of 2011

When I first thought back to 2011 I didn't think much had happened due to saving for our wedding this year in 2012.... but looking back in photos we managed to get a fair bit crammed into the year. Since moving to Hampshire from Devon we are a lot closer to London so this year we have managed to get up a fair bit more than usual to either go shopping, take in sights or just for a general day out. This photo was taken in June this year.... you wouldn't believe it was Summer, due to the rain and wind!

We have gone home many a times to Devon & Cornwall to see family and friends but for my 25th Birthday we managed to stay in a friends caravan. My birthday wishes for this year was to watch the sunset, and this is exactly what me and Alex did!

One of my closest friend's Ariana from university got married in May to her husband Nick who she met whilst she was at University. It was an amazing day to catch up with my closest friends and celebrate Ariana & Nick's big day! We are all eagerly awaiting to meet there baby girl being born in February :)

Me & Alex finally took a weekend away to Rome in April. This trip was long time coming. It was somewhere we always said we wanted to go, and in the end we just booked it! I absolutely fell in love with this city and its history and would love to go back someday.

Since moving to Hampshire me and Alex have completely missed the sea, so we took many a trips to the South coast to get our frills of the fresh sea air. We both absolutely loved visiting Brighton and its 'British seaside' feel!

In July we went to France for a week to spend with Alex's french family. This time my parents came along and it was lovely to spend time with both sides of the family and Alex loved showing my parents the place he loves most in the world.

One of my highlights of the year was meeting our wedding photographer Marianne Taylor for our engagement shoot. We both absolutely loved meeting her and the whole experience. It was so nice to spend a day with Alex, running around London. We were both insanely nervous as me and Alex find it very hard to get a nice photo that both of us like, however we should of never doubted Marianne's talent's as every photo was beautiful!

I just wanted to write a quick post to say Happy New Year!

I want to say thank you to all my readers, for there support and kind words. Without the support from you lovely lot I would of stopped this blog a long time ago!

2011 has been an interesting year for me. I took a brave jump and left full time work to set up my own freelance design company. It has had its ups and downs but I have done so much more than I thought I would of done! I am my own worst critic but I pat myself on the back. I have the most supportive family, friends and fiancé who has got me through with words of motivation!

2012 is set to be an amazing year. Me and the fiancé are finally getting married in May. I hope for my company to keep growing and I am really looking forward to working with new clients!

I really hope 2012 is what you want it to be!

Wedding Update

It is now less than 5 months till me and the fiance ties the knot! Which means it is now crunch time and I am sure every spare minute (and penny) that me and the fiance have will be spent on organizing the big day. It is coming up to two years that we have been engaged, which means that we have been planning this one day for two whole years! It feel's like a lot longer though!

We pretty much have all of the big things sorted now. I just need to finish the invitations and send those out in the next few weeks. Then its down to the nitty gritty bits such as Decor. I have such a strong image of what I want that I know I might turn a bit bridezilla. A slight change of plans has also happened to the bridesmaids situation, but hopefully that will all be sorted in the next few days. Its just little things that you have 100% set in your mind of how you want it to look, that sometimes you just have to let it go and realise that not everything can look the way you envisioned it. Sometimes it is just pretty tough to let go, especially when you have had a 'style' in your mind for two years, and it took so much effort to get there in the first place. I am sure that being a designer doesn't help when it comes to letting things go.... as I have such a vision of what I want!

This wedding has already taken a lot out of me and Alex... and Alex has been great with getting me through when I hit a brick wall...which has happened quite a lot!

Ugg Boot Design Competition

How was everyone's christmas? Just before Christmas I entered a design competition over at talent house to design an ugg boot for 'Ugg Australia'. Please do 'like' my design if it takes your fancy, by clicking here!

I kept the design quite simple due to it being such an iconic boot! However I felt that by adding scattered self coloured crystals to an all over black boot, would give this boot a 'luxe' feel. I am a magpie myself, so I thought these would look rather pretty in real life!

I will be going quiet over the next few days. I have come back home to Plymouth to spend quality time with family and friends, and to celebrate the holidays.

I found out some amazing news yesterday, which I am keeping quiet about for now, but it shall be a very good christmas!

I have been meaning to do some new illustrations for my etsy store, and I have a long list of beautiful items to . I knew I had to start tackling this list, so I thought I would pick the oh so beautiful and glittery Miu Miu boots.

It was a bit tricky trying to figure out how to make the glitter sparkle, but I am quite happy with the finish. This will soon be available to buy in my etsy store in a few days.

One thing about working freelance, means I have a bit more time working on my illustrations. Above is an illustration of a Quiksilver Womens dress. This dress is gorgeous in real life.... I love this printed version, however it also comes in a plain black version! Oh the choices!

I think I have made it quite obvious on my blog, that I am a huge fan of this brand. I actually can't wait to see the new Spring/Summer 2012 range... I have seen a few snippets here and there. I have my eye on a white cotton dress....

What is in my make up bag?

Today, I decided to illustrate my essential make up kit! I am not the kind of girl that plaster's my make up on, however as you can see I am a big fan of designer make up. I am a huge Chanel fan when it comes to make up. I swear by its eyeliner.... it stays put all day, unlike a lot of other brands I have tried! My other daily essential is my Chanel Bronzer... I actually can not leave the house without this on my face. I don't use foundation on a daily basis, its more when I going on a night out. However I love Mac's Studio Sculpt. Its not to heavy, but has a really good cover. In the summer I switch to Bobbi Brown's tinted moisturiser. I am also addicted to Nail Varnish. I find that Dior is the best on the market. It stays put for day's and doesn't show signs of chipping for a good few days!

The only issue with designer make up, is when it runs out! You have to pay a small fortune to replenish, which is never a good thing on the run up to christmas. All my spare pennies have gone on family and friends this year, so fingers crossed my hinting has not gone un-noticed!

I have just found these photos of River Island S/S 12 campaign. I am amazed by some of the detail that has gone in to this collection. I was never a huge fan of River Island until a few season's ago, and I would probably say they are one of my favourites now! I love how the prices are really affordable yet they seem to be leaps ahead of its fellow high street designers...

I love polka dot chambray denim jumpsuit, and the tribal print pencil skirt teamed with a shorted khaki parka jacket. Roll on S/S 12 now.... I have had enough of the dark nights, and cold/wet/windy days!

Pantone Colour of the Year: Tangerine Tango 17-1463 TCX

Pantone® announced that 'Tangerine Tango' aka 17-1463 TCX is the colour of 2012. Pantone wanted to have something bolder this coming year, than its past few years successors. This colour is meant to 'provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward'.

This colour was plastered all over the Spring/Summer 2012 runway's with the majority of the designers sending down at least one outfit with a splash of Tangerine. Whether it was whole outfits, or touches of the colour on accessories.

It certainly wakes me up as soon as I look at this reddish-orange colour. I personally am not a orange fan, it makes me look a bit ill. However accessories are a good way to introduce this colour into your wardrobe if you are not feeling to brave to wear an all over tangerine coloured dress or blazer!

New Illustration: Audrey Hepburn - Breakfast at Tiffany's

One of my all time favourite films is 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' starring Audrey Hepburn. It is such a classic! I think this film instilled my love of Tiffany's at a young age. As Audrey says 'I'm crazy about Tiffany's'.

I was drawing a bit blank on what my next illustration would be, when it hit me! Why not the most beautiful actress there ever was!

I am not a big fan of cat's however if I was to ever have one, me and the fiance shall name it 'slob' in tribute to my favourite film!

I have finally got around to finishing this illustration. I want to try and build up my chanel bottle collection, so I will slowly but surely be adding more perfume bottles to my etsy shop. I am hoping to add a few more types of products to my shop in the New Year, so keep your eyes posted!

Also, if you are wanting larger prints of my illustrations, I have found an amazing printer! I had an order a few weeks back, and I was so SO happy with the way it turned out and so was my customer! The quality was absolutely amazing!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw these shots from the S/S 2012 range by F&F at Tesco. They are bang on trend, with the African tribal prints coming through in the Jewel hues. I am in love with the first outfit with the stripes! I am loving the midi skirt length! Also, have you seen those prices!?!?!

I also love the blouse with the orange and blue hues, and the neutral prints! What a gorgeous piece!

I know what I will be doing when I go to do my weekly food shop....!

Spring/Summer 2012 Key Womenswear Trends: African Tribal

It's not even christmas yet, and I am already talk about about Spring./Summer 2012. You will soon notice that all the stores on the high street after christmas will start to filter the Autumn/Winter trends out to be replaced with the key looks of the season.

One of the key trends this season, which has followed through from the past few seasons, is the African Tribal trend. Although its nothing we have not seen before, the designers are focusing a lot more on jewelled hues and the vivid prints and patterns. The neckline is going to be made the focus point, whether its embellished, printed, or embroidered inspired by the Masai women.

Burberry Prorsum (one of my favourite runway collection this season!) & Holly Fulton both were fully inspired by the tribal trend, however I think Holly Fulton made a completely different take and made it look quite technical & modern!

Twilight Wedding Dress

I am a bit of a fan of twilight, but also because I have weddings on my mind (less than 6 months till mine and the fiance's wedding) I had to do a post on 'Bella's wedding dress! I came across this article on Vogue's website which is worth a read if you want to know more about the dress itself.

I can see a big trend of this wedding dress next year, because it is such a classic shape! The lace back with the covered buttons going all the way down to the hem is just so SO beautiful, and absolutely makes the dress. This beautiful wedding dress was made by Carolina Herrera.

I have yet to see this film, however the arch of flowers looks beautiful, and I love how the guests are all wearing the same tone of colours! I wonder if they requested that colour scheme on the invitations haha!

Whether your are a twilight lover or not.... you have to admit that Kirsten Stewart makes a beautiful bride!

Illustration for Amelia's Magazine: Ros Millar Jewellery

This was my second illustration for Amelia's magazine, and the article is about 'The Best of the Independent Jewellery Fairs'. If you are a jewellery lover, its a must read!

I chose to illustrate Ros Millar's jewellery, as it really appealed to me! I loved how she used natural elements such as stone, rope. Due to this I wanted to use brown paper as the background, and I built up around this. I see a bit of a change in my recents works, and that is I have started to use different backgrounds to add another dimension to my illustrations and I really like the way they are turning out.

Q&A: Rosie Sugden - Scottish Cashmere

Don't you love it how you stumble across something lovely online, but you have absolutely no idea how you came across it?! Well 'Rosie Sugden' was one of those 'stumbles' for me! As soon as I laid eyes on her products it was love at first site. Not only because I LOVE cashmere, but I love how she has used trend led, yet classic shapes that will last seasons! Fingers crossed she will expand her collection into clothing soon....especially cardigans! Lets hope Rosie can take a hint ;)
I quickly got in contact with her to see if she wanted to do a little interview, and luckily for me she said yes!

Hi Rosie, Tell me about yourself?
I'm 23, I graduated last year from Northumbria University with a First Class degree in Fashion design specialising in Knitwear, prior to that I did an Art Foundation at Chelsea College of Art. I started my own business, selling cashmere accessories this year and I live and work in Scotland.

What inspired you to set up 'Rosie Sugden - Scottish Cashmere'?
My father has always worked in Textiles and always used to take me around the mill when I was younger, so I think by a process of osmosis I have absorbed his passion and love for cashmere, knitwear and woven textiles. However I think my creative genes semt from my Mother who is a very talented Garden designer and seamstress.

What is your favourite piece in the range?
I always get asked this, and it is so hard because I love it all! I think the Turban is a winner, but I also think the ribbed beanies are just gorgeous, they are so soft and chunky and I love the neutral colours because the can be worn with anything.

Which artist of designer do you most admire?
I love Denis Bowen's work but my favourite artist is Cy Twombly. I went to see an exhibition of his work in Vienna a few years ago and I could have stayed there all day - it was mesmerising. I also love my incredibly talented friend Alice Bridge's paintints. Designer wise I think Stella McCartney is very talented - she knows her strengths and I love her aesthetic. I also interned for Christopher Kane and I think he is a genius and is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of us.

What is your typical day?
It varies really. Most of the times I am glued to my computer all morning e-mailing, checking the orders, calling people. I ride a couple of times a week with my neighbour in the early morning to which always helps me clear my head. I have a quick lunch, and then it really depends what I have on that specific day. Some days I have to go to meetings to see how production is or check on product development, other days I have to do my book keepings, or go to the dye house and see how a yarn colour is coming along. I go to the gym between 5.30-6.30pm. I always have my Blackberry with me as I get so many e-mails I have to keep on top of them. I do feel more awake in the evenings and more creative so I quite often shut myself away to sketch ideas and designs.

Do you have an audience in mind when you are designing?
Yes I do, but it is quite a qide audience!! I design things I love and I also try to push the boundaries within manufacturing, and how something is made as there are so many amazing new machine technologies available. I think my designs transcend age, and that is is more about individual taste and appreciation for a well made, high quality product.

How would you describe your signature style in one sentence?
Innovative, feminine and wearable.

What is your most treasured possession?
I have several lovely pieces of jewellery my Mother has given me which I treasure but my most special necklace is a gold sand dollar pendant that I was given when I was about 10 by a great friend of my Granny's who is a sort of a God-Father/uncle to me. I can't bear to take it off so no other necklaces ever get a look in unless they are very long!

Where are you most inspired?
If you mean a place then I would say the countryside as I find it so easy to clear my head and not be distracted. But inspiration happens all the time and it is never in once place or from one thing.

Was this always a dream for you?
yes I think it has always been in the back of my mind that I would love to start my own business but the idea didn't manifest properly until the end of last year when I reaslise that there was nothing I would rather do.

Where do you hope to see 'Rosie Sugden - Scottish Cashmere' in 5 years time?
I hope to have established myself as a brand and be stocked in a few boutiques. I hope the business will have grown and the collection will have expanded to women's jumpers, cardigans etc.

Your guilty pleasures outside of the brand/work?
I don't feel particularly guilty about this, but I love trashy TV, Wispa Golds, The Only Way is Essex & The Daily Mail online gossip section!

How do you love to spend a Sunday?
A lie-in, poached eggs, a long walk with my three dogs, late lunch, Sunday papers, a good film and ideally a bit of Downton Abbey in the evening! Preferably spent with my boyfriend, Fred.

Tell us something not many people know about you?
I'm not actually Scottish, but I've lived here since I was 3 weeks old. I was born in Huddersfield. My father always says it was so I could play cricket for Yorkshire!

I am so, so please to finally show you this illustration I did of Brooke Roberts S/S 2012 collection of knitwear for Amelia's Magazine.

I really enjoyed this illustration due to the fact that I loved Brooke Roberts clothing! The knitwear pieces are to die for, and I don't think you can fully appreciate them until you look up close at the detail!! I never knew knitwear could be so intricate! If I could afford a few of her pieces, they would be right in my wardrobe!!

I also love the fact that Brooke Roberts is a Radiographer as well!! A lady with many talents!!

A Royal Day Out!

Today has been one of those days that will go down in my book of memories. Me and the fiance met up with my Mum and my Nana to get our wedding rings made in Windsor. People might ask why we travelled so far, but Windsor is the first place I called 'Home', its where my mum is from, and my grandparents lived for 30+ years. Half of my happy childhood memories were made whilst in Windsor. The majority of my childhood was moving about due to my Dad being in the Army, but Windsor was one of the places we returned to and settled down for a few years before moving to Devon! Me, my brother and cousins spent many a summer visiting our grandparents in Windsor. One of the key influential players in my life was my Dandan. He is someone who I will miss to my die-ing day, and he constantly worked hard, which I have learnt a lot from. It was one of the many reasons that gave me the confidence to head into self employment as I knew he would be egging me on to be my own boss!

For our wedding rings, we went along to a jewellery shop, who Dandan used to have business links with (My Dandan was a horologist!), as we wanted something that would link back to my Dandan. I can't wait to see the final product!

It was so sooo lovely to go back, especially with my Mum and my Nana, and speak about many memories that we could share with Alex. We also popped in to see an old family friend which was so lovely! We managed to pop to the castle, and check it was still there! I can inform you, its all there in it's glory :)

To sum up today in three words, I would say: today was awesome!

There is only one downside to getting married, and that is the cost!! Me and the fiance are saving like mad and cutting back on anything considered 'fun'! I know the one thing we would love to do, is go snowboarding this winter!! We didn't go last season and I know the fiance is having withdrawal symptoms!

So when I saw the Ashish collaboration with Topshop Sno, it just made that whole temptation worse, and I had to click the red cross quickly, before I clicked on 'Add to Basket'! I am in love with the slogan sweatshirts, especially the 'Piste off' and 'Chalet Come With You'! Its collections like this that make me want to get on the phone and book the holiday....! However one must resist and keep repeating to oneself 'One must save, fun is not allowed for another 6 months!"

I am feeling really festive today due to working on an A/W 2013/2014 collection for a client! Yes you read right, that would be Autumn/Winter 2013/2014! Lots of cosy layers are a go-go! It might also be helped along with the fact that I am listening to Michael Bubles Christmas album ;)

I am so in love with this Quiksilver Womens cardigan, and I would love to wear it on Christmas day, just snuggling up with the fiance! Hint Hint to any family reading this blog post! haha

A good weekend!

I have got a day off today, so I am just catching up reading a few blogs and trying to finish off our wedding stationary... easier said than done! It's very close to being finished, just need a few tweaks here and there! Overall we are both really happy with them, and I am so lucky to have the fiance looking over my shoulder giving me pointers when I feel that the stationary is never going to look good. He genuinely doesn't see himself as a designer, as he is to modest, but he has a print diploma, and he has a designers mind, which really shows when it comes to designing our own stationary!! One of the many reasons I love him.

So I thought I would fill you in on whats been happening the past few days. This weekend we travelled up to Cirencester to celebrate my little cousin's Merryn christening! The church was absolutely rammed, and Merryn behaved so well. I even got a hug out of her, so I was a happy cousin! Shes a gorgeous little baby! I had such a good time, catching up with family who I don't see very often! I felt very lucky and privileged to have such a lovely family after that evening!

My mum baked and decorated the most amazing cake for Merryn's christening! My mum will be doing mine and the fiance's wedding cake to, so we can not wait to have a slice of that cake! It is officially now less than 6 months till we get married, so this sunday was dedicated to making a few pieces for the big day. I am going to keep what we did quiet but me and Alex had the best fun making some goodies for the day! We made something for all our day guests for less than £10!! Which put an even bigger smile on our faces!!

I am slightly obsessed with taking photographs of Autumn leaves and trees! Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, so I can't help myself! I have also dug out all my boots, with my fringed moccasin boots being my favourites at the moment! I also keep plaiting my hair, a fish tail to be exact! Its so easy, and it keeps the hair out of my face whilst busying away on the computer.

I have also been fitting in a few more illlustrations for Amelia's Magazine which should be appearing on their website sometime soon, so as soon as they are live I will post them on here!! I am seriously happy with the second illustration, not my usual style but it turned out better than I had expected! I am trying to focus more on faces, to practice drawing features more!

I have been working on a few prints for a client, and have really been enjoying it! Its something different to my every day routine. I have been sketching up organic shapes such as shells and starfish's and using seaside colour inspired palettes.

This weekend consisted of illustrating, and re-organising our front room. I am really pleased with the way this illustration turned out, however I can't decide which background I prefer. I have however printed the white background version out, for our newly organised bookcase.

I never ever thought I would say this but I think I have OCD when it comes to book shelves! My fiance's neatness is slowly passing on to me! It took me an hour to organise our book case in to colour ways! It looks a million times better, and is much easier on the eye! I then moved onto our DVD's.... the fiance won't let me touch his CD collection, as they are in alphabetical order and I actually think the wedding would be off if I even tried! ;) I know my boundaries of colour organising!

Sunday Sketching

Its been a while since I have put pen to paper, so it's been nice to sit down and have some time to myself. You might recognise this piece from Elle Magazine. As soon as I read the piece about Emma Watson, I just knew I had to illustrate it at some point so off it went into my inspiration folder.

I am really pleased how its turned out so far. Still a fair bit to go, but overall I am happy with it!

Happy Saturday everyone!! What have you got planned for the weekend? I have just finished a project so I am just going to chill out and maybe put pen to paper. I was home last weekend, and was inspired by my mum (have I ever told you my mum is an amazing baker?) to draw up some culinary inspired shapes! It's not the usual style I go for, however its always nice to break the mould!

I was just experimenting with colour ways, and sizing, what do you think?

Quiksilver Women A/W 11/12

One of the many brands I am obsessed with is Quiksilver Women. It appeals to all sorts of women, however it is more aimed at the 'surfer' who has grown out of the bright vivid colours of its younger sister 'Roxy' and there other main competitors. How do I know this, as I am one of them! I started surfing when I was 16, and have been on and around the water ever since. The sea is a huge part of my life, and my families life. I grew up wearing Roxy and Billabong, then a few years ago, I started to veer away from wearing these brands as I felt a bit to 'grown up' for them.

They capture the more mature surfer that still wants to live that lifestyle, but also is a bit more fashion conscious, but not to fashion conscious!! They don't always follow the trends as such! My favourite aspect of Quiksilver Women that seems to flow through each of its collections is the fit! I love the loose fit shirts & tees, but I also love the laid back-ness of the cami dresses. There is still the staple hoodie, but its using more of a 'luxe' jersey. I swear this brand was created just for me, as I want every piece!

I have been a keen follower of Quiksilver Women from the start, and a few pieces from each season have taken residence in my wardrobe. However I have not had anything from the AW 11/12 season.... yet!! I have put together a christmas list, and placed the 'Snow Blanket Cardigan' in top place! Fingers crossed Santa thinks I have been a good girl this year!

Whistles A/W 11/12

One of my favourite brands Whistles has just launched a new 'lookbook' video for there a/w 11/12 which I am in love with! Featuring the 'Austra's' song 'The Noise' which I personally think, finishes this video off!

My wardrobe wish list has just got even bigger!

These 4 looks are my favourites from the season!! I already have these plum coloured trousers from Whistles, which is the key colour of the season. However I am now lusting after this striped top and the fair isle knit jumper. I think these would make the perfect casual winter outfit!

Official: Freelance Fashion Designer

It is official, the last week or so has been absolutely crazy! I took the big step and went freelance full time. So far I have really enjoyed it. The project I am currently working on is keeping me busy, yet I am really enjoying it.

It's the one thing I missed from my full time job at Mudpie. I learnt so much from that job, looking at future trends and designing two years ahead. However I really missed seeing my designs all the way through to the final product.

However I am feeling very positive about the future and I am very intrigued to see what will come my way. With a few jobs already lined up and I have had good feedback so far, I think I have made a pretty good start already.

These are a few pictures of the past few days. I came back home to Devon for the weekend to see family and friends, and to buy my bridesmaids dresses, which was very successful! They are going to look amazing on the day.

I made some yummy scones, which disappeared quicker than it took to bake them!

Hero&Cape

There is one item of clothing that appears over and over again in my wardrobe and that is the classic t-shirt! I prefer the loose fitting tee, but overall I love t-shirts!

When I stumbled across 'Hero&Cape' I knew I was on to a winner! They are a British clothing label, (woo hoo for the brits!!) which bring t-shirts featuring hand drawn graphics to the table! They are unique and different and Hero&Cape is driven by products that are as unique to you as a superhero's cape. If that isn't a motto, then I don't know what is?

Not only that, but they print each t-shirt in house!! So you are guaranteed that you will get a product that is created with love just for you!!

I personally can't make up my mind on whether to buy the 'Boys do make passes at girls that wear glasses' tee or the 'anchor' tee. Oh the choices!!!

They recently did a collaboration with temporary-secretary.com which you might have heard of recently as Sarah who runs the blog/shop recently won the Look Blogger competition. Her blog is worth a look, and her shop to! Full of jewellery delights!

Right best get on, I have a busy, busy day ahead!

I am addicted to twitter, and love what comes up on my feed. When this link popped up I was more than intrigued so I had to have a look. I feel in love, as not only is it based for a wedding in Cornwall (which is where me and the fiance are getting married) so I can fully relate to the feel of this save the date and it gets everything across.... but it also has 'Fisherman's Friend's' as the music who I LOVE!

If we hadn't already sent our 'Save The Dates' I would so of bent my fiances arm to try and have Millard & Flo do our animated save the date!

Book Heaven

Something I have always loved doing and always will love doing is reading a good book. I am a super fast reader, so I can get through a book in a few days. It's the one time I can really switch off and think of nothing else apart from what I am reading. I can spend hours and hours in a library, much to the look's I get off my fiance. A girl has to choose the right book's right? And when you have to choose 6 or so at a time, you have to make sure you get the right choice!

However when I saw this library at the Trinity College in Dublin, it made my bookworm heart skip a beat! My 'dream' involves a house, where I can have a room just for me and my books.... would it surprise you to know I have NEVER thrown a book out ever.... I just love them :) So this library at Trinity College has jumped right to the top of 'must see' places.

Bits of my weekend

I am currently loving Autumn, it is my favourite season! I love the brown crunchy leaves on the ground, and kicking through them as you go for nice walks in the country. Me and the fiance had such a lovely weekend as our best friends came to visit for two days, and it was so lovely having them here and showing them around.

I also introduced my best friend alice (super talented Visual Merchandiser/Print Designer) to 'The Wonderful World of Fashion'. You should visit her blog 'Alice in Doodleland' here!

We spent most of our time just catching up, going for cream teas and country walks or in my case chocolate brownies!

Im very excited as in 3 days I am officially self employed! I start my first 'full time' self employed job so I am really excited about working on that project! It's so nice to be able to manage my own time, and work on exciting projects. Roll on Thursday I say :)

As I have mentioned before on this blog, my fiance has been learning to skate for over a month and I can officially say he is hooked! I have to admit though, it is great fun!!! Im still a bit 'shakey jakey' on the old legs however I can see how addictive it can be! So ever since I came across these boards on STOP IT RIGHT NOW my fiance has been nudging me in ribs to part with my cash.... however I am not sure I would want to ruin this deck! Especially the red one! Its beautiful!! I see it more as a piece of art!

When I stumbled across these I instantly thought, what a beautiful detailed bracelet? However on closer inspection (and reading the description!) they are actually engraved recycled tyre's.... yes those rubber things you find on your car wheels!! They are created by Wim Delvoye. He has spent most of his art career transforming unused objects into items of beauty! These tyre's are part of a series called 'Pneu" which is french for tyre! The artist has carved intricate patterns into the tyre's surface to create different textures.

However one does wonder, where you would put a piece like this?

My plan for this weekend has been interrupted by a tight deadline at work, I was planning on posting this post with an illustration or two, however that will need to be put on the 'to do' list!

I am a huge fan of Burberry! I look forward to there shows each season and this collection is my favourite so far yet.... ( I have yet to see Isabel Marant, so I am sure that will all change in a few weeks!)

I have no words for this collection other than 'complete genius'. I am sooo in love with this collection and look at those shoes!! Arggh those shoes!!! They need to be on my feet right now!

25th Birthday - Cornwall trip

I am not sure why I have not posted this until now...? However it was my 25th birthday at the end of August this year. Me and the fiance managed to make it back down home, and to Cornwall for a few days. My one request for my birthday.....weather permitting was to watch the sunset and to go surfing. We chose the worst week to go down to Cornwall that week for surfing as it was flat as a pancake.... however it was beautiful weather so sunset watching we could do!

We went to St Ives for the day, god knows what possessed us? The biggest tourist spot of Cornwall, and it was like being in Piccadilly Circus at rush hour! We got away pretty quickly, and headed to a few of our more quieter favourite spots...

My first illustration of the Spring Summer 2012 runway collections goes to Alexander Wang. I loved this collection, it seemed to be made up of different characters. Once again there was a strong 'sports' feel to this collection, which seems to be a strong trend coming through already at New York Fashion Week.

It felt so good to be able to have some time to do an illustration this morning. I can't remember the last time I put pencil to paper! I am hoping to do a few more of this fashion week, so keep your eyes peeled.

Spring Summer 2012 runway shows are upon us! Where has this year gone?! One of the few reasons I love seeing the runway show, is seeing how the trends that the trends company I currently design for, really start to show through and be proved! Starting off with New York fashion week, I am already liking some of the goods that New York has so far shown us. I absolutely love looking at all the runway shows..... so expect a few lust blogs coming up!!!

I am already counting down the days till my favourite designer shows in Paris..... yes you guessed it! Isabel Marant :)
However first up is Rag & Bone's Spring Summer 2012 collection is a stand out show so far.... with influences from 1970's surfers mixed with neon colours from the nineties with a few drawstring details added into the mix and I am a happy girl!

The bright blues contrasting against the oranges. The use of technical fabrics contrasting hand knit crochet vests and dresses are to die for!! This is a collection I could easily wear! I feel that poncho was designed for our non existant british summer!

Birthday Trip Away!

My week off is flying by :( Just got back from a few days in Cornwall. It was so lovely to get away and spend sometime with Alex. However, we did want to try and get in the sea, but nature was against us, and it was flat as a pancake!!! Typical huh!

On Tuesday it was my 25th Birthday.... where did this year go?! I was absolutely spoilt as always, and me & Alex just spent the day on the beach, having a nice meal and watching the sun set. How very romantic ;)

We came back earlier than expected due to Alex coming down with a bad cold, and now I am starting to get one :( Lets hope its gone by tomorrow! Alex has organised a get together with friends to celebrate my 25th Birthday.

I can't wait to return to Cornwall very soon though!! However, its very soon back to reality :(

Light as a feather pattern

I learnt a new skill at work a few weeks back and that is how to create repeat patterns, which I have been practicing ever since. Its quite a fun process really to see how it will look in the end.

This pattern is made up of some feathers that I drew a while back and that you might recognise as they have been used in my 'welcome' picture at the top of my blog.

I have not had chance to play with the colourways, but I think these are so delicate it's quite nice in monotone.

If you read this post here. You would know that I was making a few big changes to my life. Risky, but needed to be done.

As of the 20th October I will officially be self employed as a freelance fashion designer. It is something I have been considering for a while due to being quite unhappy. Its a massive step for me, but its a step that I feel very confident about and I am going to give it a good go.

My career dream, is to work as a designer for one of the leading action sports clothing companies. It's why I wanted to study fashion. Not to become to the next 'big thing' on the runways or in vogue, but to become the next 'big thing' in the action sports industry. Its the only thing I have known, and I truly believe that this will happen one day. Going freelance is just one step closer to this happening.... I hope ;)

Ever since handing my notice in my reliable, safe, bringing in consistent money each month job. I have strangely had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! I feel so much happier going into a 'job' that won't be bringing in money consistently, and I know it won't be an easy ride, hell its probably going to be the hardest thing I have done so far in my career, but I truly believe this is the best thing that I could do for me. I know I am good at what I do, and I just need to keep saying this to myself.

I have got some exciting projects in the pipeline, fingers crossed they will want to hire me come the 20th October. I just can't wait for the 20th to wake up to a fresh new start!

Saturday Skating

Me & Alex have got a week off, which we have decided to spend our time off back home in Devon & Cornwall. It's so nice to be back and see friendly faces, and be able to go to all the places we love.

We have woken up feeling a bit sorry for ourselves this morning, due to celebrating a friends birthday....so I am trying to type away my headache :(

However yesterday was such a good day. Most boys tried there hand at skating when they were younger however Alex never did. Hes bodyboarded since he was 14, he snowboard's but never skated. For the past 6 months or so he has kept on going on at me about wanting to learn to skateboard.... Yesterday afternoon, Alex had a early life crisis and he went and bought his first skateboard! He turned into a little kid in an instant!

He picked it up pretty quickly. I think those snowboarding skills came into practice. I of course couldn't resist a go! Its great fun and I actually can't wait to go again. Once I got over the initial fear of 'concrete hurts' I managed to loosen up a bit, and really enjoy myself and be able to go along without wanting to hold alex's hands ;). Hopefully it will bring back all the skills of surfing when we go this week, which I can't remember the last time I went, but I guess that is what happens when you move 2.5 hours away from the coast!

So all in all, a pretty good start to the week off!

I can't believe its taken me this long to put our engagement photos up by most amazing wedding photographer Marianne Taylor. Not only is she so lovely, shes also an amazing talent! I think with me being a designer, photographs were a huge thing for me and Alex, as we both knew at the end of the day, its all we would have left with our own personal memories...!

Luckily a good friend of mine used Marianne, and as soon as I saw her photographs for her wedding. I just knew we had to have Marianne! She is so unlike other wedding photographers, she is anything but cliche, making you do 'dodgy' poses against a wall. We had such a fun day with Marianne, and it was also nice to spend some quality time with Alex, and end up with some beautiful photos of just us two, which I really felt sums up mine and alex's relationship!

I literally can not wait until May!!

Eek! Have you seen the newly released images of the Missoni for Target collaboration??? They are offering a sneak peak of what we will be able to see in Target stores and online. This is where I need to check out whether they send internationally as I am loving a few....okay a lot of these pieces!!! I am quite a big fan of the iconic Missoni prints, so this collection of a whopping 400 pieces makes me very happy indeed.

I am glad I came across this Jeweller called Thrashion, as not only do I like the fact that she comes from my part of the country, but what an amazing concept!!! Some of these pieces can be quite bold due to the graphics on the deck, but some pieces can also be really feminine and organic.

She creates all sorts out of recycled skateboard decks..... from bangles, necklaces, key rings. So if you do buy a piece from her collection least you know that you are doing a bit of 'good'. So head over to her website and check her out.
